As cloud computing and AI continue to drive data centre expansion worldwide, project teams are under growing pressure to deliver new capacity faster without compromising quality, safety or energy performance.

Cooling infrastructure is central to that challenge. Conventional site-built piping systems can involve lengthy installation, inconsistent workmanship and limited flexibility for future expansion. These issues become increasingly difficult to manage as data centres grow in scale and density.

By moving more work into a controlled production environment, the solution supports faster, safer and more consistent delivery of cooling piping systems while contributing to more efficient, lower-carbon construction.

Meide Group's End‑to‑End Prefabrication Service Model

Meide Group has developed a prefabrication service model covering the entire process from design through operation and maintenance.

The process begins with BIM modelling, followed by detailed design coordination and the creation of 1:1 BIM product families to generate accurate fabrication drawings. Pipe spools are then manufactured on industrial prefabrication lines and installed on site using assembly-based, hot‑work‑free methods.

Digital management connects design, fabrication, installation and operation across the project lifecycle, significantly improving construction efficiency and site safety.

Project Highlight: ZGYD Cooling Plant Piping Prefabrication

The ZGYD campus is the client's largest infrastructure development to date. Its cooling plant piping project faced several constraints, including a compressed construction schedule, limited working space and a strict site‑wide hot‑work ban.

Meide Group responded with an integrated solution combining BIM, prefabrication and digital management. The solution met the project's safety requirements while significantly shortening the construction schedule.

The project was successfully completed and handed over, with improvements in installation quality, delivery efficiency and site safety.
